Playing Live?
For more than 20 years, I have been creating electronic music in my home studio. Most of that time has been spent writing songs, designing sounds, learning new technology, and experimenting with different styles. My music has always been something I created for myself and for anyone who happened to discover it online. But lately, I’ve been thinking about something that could happen in the near future: performing my music live. The idea is exciting, but it also makes me nervous. Producing music in a studio is very different from standing in front of an audience. In the studio, I can take my time and perfect every detail. During a live performance, anything can happen. Equipment can fail, mistakes can occur, and the crowd might react in unexpected ways. At the same time, those challenges are part of what makes live music special. A performance is a unique moment that can never be repeated exactly the same way. It gives musicians a chance to connect directly with listeners and share their work in a more personal way. Living in Monterey, California, I think there are opportunities to bring electronic music to local audiences. While the area is known for its natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere, there are also creative communities that appreciate original music and artistic expression. If I do begin performing live, I don't expect everything to be perfect. My goal would simply be to share the music I've spent years creating and see how people respond. Whether the audience is large or small, the experience would be a new chapter in my musical journey. After two decades of making electronic music, maybe the next step is not creating more tracks in the studio. Maybe the next step is stepping onto a stage and seeing what happens.
